Are Epic Passes Good for Mountain Biking?

The Epic Pass is an all-access ski pass issued by Vail Resorts that gives you access to all of their ski resorts in North America. But is it good for mountain biking? The answer is: it depends on your goals and budget.

If You Ski and Bike: If you’re a skier who also likes to mountain bike, the Epic Pass is a great value. You’ll have access to some of the most popular skiing destinations in the US, and with those passes, you’ll also get discounts on biking lift tickets at many of those same resorts. So if you’re looking for a good way to save money while skiing and biking, the Epic Pass is definitely worth considering.

If You Only Bike: If you’re only interested in mountain biking, then the Epic Pass may not be worth it for you. While there are some discounts available on bike lift tickets at certain resorts, the discounts are often not as big as they are for skiing lift tickets. And since you won’t be skiing at all, there’s no real benefit in buying an Epic Pass other than the occasional discount on bike lift tickets.

If You’re On A Budget: The Epic Pass isn’t necessarily cheap, so if you’re on a tight budget it might not be the best option for you. However, if budget isn’t an issue and you want to have access to as many different resorts as possible without having to buy multiple lift tickets every time, then an Epic Pass could be a great option for you.

Conclusion: Whether or not an Epic Pass is good for mountain biking really depends on your budget and goals. If you ski and bike, or if budget isn’t an issue, then it can be a great value. However, if you only bike or are on a tight budget then it may not be worth it since discounts may not be that significant and since there’s no benefit from having access to multiple ski resorts when only biking.
