Are Kalanchoe Indoor or Outdoor Plants?

Kalanchoe plants, also known as flaming Katy or Christmas Kalanchoe, are popular indoor and outdoor plants that are easy to care for. They are native to Madagascar, but are now grown in many parts of the world. Kalanchoe plants come in a wide variety of colors and shapes.

Kalanchoe plants prefer warm weather and bright indirect light, making them well suited to indoor environments. When grown indoors they can reach heights of up to three feet and can be kept in containers or hanging baskets. The flowers of Kalanchoe plants come in shades of pink, yellow, orange, red and purple and bloom from late winter through springtime.

Outdoors, Kalanchoe plants need partial shade and well-drained soil with a pH between 6.5-7.5. They can be grown as annuals in cooler climates but need to be brought inside during winter months where temperatures dip too low for them to survive outside. In warm climates they can be planted directly into the ground.

In conclusion, whileKalanchoe plants are capable of surviving both indoors and outdoors, they fare better when grown inside due to their preference for bright indirect sunlight and warm temperatures. Those looking for an easy-to-care-for houseplant should consider adding a Kalanchoe plant to their home; it’s sure to add color and beauty all year long!
