Are Pelargoniums Indoor or Outdoor Plants?

Pelargoniums are one of the most popular varieties of plants. They are available in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and colors. With their attractive foliage and flowers, they are ideal for both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Indoor Pelargoniums

Indoor Pelargoniums thrive in bright, indirect light and prefer temperatures between 55-65°F (12-18°C). They need to be kept moist, but not wet.

Water when the soil feels dry to the touch. Fertilize every two weeks with a half strength liquid fertilizer. When growing indoors, it is important to ensure that your Pelargoniums get enough light and ventilation to prevent disease and pests from taking hold.

Outdoor Pelargoniums

Outdoor Pelargoniums prefer full sunlight but can also tolerate some shade. They need well-draining soil that is slightly acidic (pH 6-7).

Water on a regular basis when the top layer of soil has dried out. Fertilize every three weeks with a balanced fertilizer during their growing season (April – October). To help them survive the winter months, mulch them well with straw or bark chips to protect their roots from frost damage.

Conclusion:

Pelargoniums can be grown both indoors and outdoors depending on your individual needs and preferences. With proper care, they will thrive in either setting providing you with beautiful blooms for years to come!
