Can You Camp in Zions National Park?

Camping in Zion National Park offers visitors the opportunity to experience the park’s spectacular beauty and wildlife in a truly unique way. The park is home to a wide variety of different ecosystems, from majestic red rock formations to towering canyons and lush forests. Campers can choose from a variety of campgrounds located throughout the park, each offering something unique for visitors to explore.

The most popular campgrounds are located near Zion Canyon, in the heart of the park.

These campgrounds offer close access to some of the park’s most iconic sites, including Angel’s Landing and The Narrows. There are also several backcountry campsites along the trails that offer more secluded camping experiences. Campers must register and pay fees at any of these campgrounds before setting up their tents or camping vehicles.

Campers who prefer a more rustic experience can choose from dispersed camping locations throughout the park. Dispersed camping is allowed in some areas outside of developed campgrounds, such as on public lands or along roads not closed to public travel. However, visitors will need to obtain a permit from an authorized agency before setting up camp in these areas.

No matter where you choose to camp in Zion National Park, it’s important to follow all laws and regulations for safety and preservation of the environment. Animals must be kept on a leash at all times, fires should only be lit in designated fire rings, and trash should be collected and disposed of properly.
