Does Breckenridge Have Mountain Biking?

Breckenridge is a popular ski resort town in Colorado, known for its excellent slopes and stunning scenery. But what many don’t know is that Breckenridge also offers fantastic mountain biking opportunities. The terrain surrounding the town is full of expert trails, beginner trails, and even some downhill tracks for those looking for a challenge.

The highest mountain bike trail in the area is the Boreas Pass Trail, which sits at an elevation of 11,500 feet. This trail is 14 miles long and has some incredible views of the Tenmile Range. It’s best suited for intermediate riders with some experience as there are plenty of technical sections along the way.

For those looking to get their feet wet with mountain biking without too much difficulty, there are plenty of beginner trails available as well. The Blue River Trail is a great option at eight miles long and with few technical sections. It follows the Blue River and offers some incredible views along the way.

One of Breckenridge’s most popular trails is the Peaks Trail. This 17-mile loop takes riders through beautiful meadows and forests before reaching an incredible overlook at 12,000 feet. It can be done in one day but it’s best to break it up into two days so you can take your time exploring all that the trail has to offer.

For those looking for a more extreme experience, there are plenty of downhill tracks available as well. The most popular one is called The Zipper which features jumps, drops, berms and other obstacles that will test even experienced riders.


Breckenridge offers something for every mountain biker from beginner to expert. With its stunning scenery and excellent trails, it’s no wonder why so many people flock here each year to ride its amazing trails. So yes, Breckenridge definitely has mountain biking!
