How Much Did Island of Bryan Resort Cost?

Bryan Baeumler and his wife Sarah, stars of HGTV’s ‘Island of Bryan’, have taken on the challenge of completely transforming a rundown resort on South Andros Island in The Bahamas. The project, which has spanned over five years and counting, has taken up countless hours and a significant amount of money. So how much did the resort cost them?

The Purchase Price
Bryan and Sarah purchased the property in 2015 for $900,000 USD. This was no small purchase for the couple.

They had to take out a loan against their home in Canada to cover the costs. But they felt it was worth it, as they saw so much potential in the property.

The Renovations
The renovations required on the property were extensive. In addition to replacing outdated infrastructure and making structural repairs, there was also cosmetic work needed to give the resort a modern feel.

All told, the renovations cost an estimated $2 million CAD (or 1.5 million USD). This included construction costs as well as materials such as furniture and appliances for each of their guest rooms.

The Result
After five years of hard work, Bryan and Sarah were able to open their dream resort in 2020—and it’s been a huge success! Not only did they attract guests from all around the world, but they also earned multiple awards from prestigious organizations like TripAdvisor and Expedia for their outstanding hospitality services.

Conclusion: In total, Bryan and Sarah spent around $2.9 million USD on their dream resort—not including all of their hard work! But it was certainly worth it; not only have they earned numerous awards since opening up their doors but they’ve also created an amazing experience for guests from all over the world.
