What Outdoor Plants Will DEER Not Eat?

Deer are one of the most common and damaging garden pests in many parts of the world. They can easily destroy a garden or lawn overnight, but there are some plants that deer won’t eat. You can use these plants to create a deer-resistant landscape or garden.

Perennials – Perennials are a great choice for deer-resistant gardens. Plants like lavender, coneflower, iris, and daylilies are all good choices that deer typically won’t eat. Other perennials that are resistant to deer include black-eyed Susan, yarrow, coreopsis, and sedum.

Shrubs – Shrubs can also be used to create a deer-resistant landscape. Some of the best choices include boxwood, juniper, holly, and barberry. All these shrubs have dense foliage that makes them difficult for deer to reach the foliage.

Trees – Trees provide shade and shelter in your garden or landscape. Some trees that are resistant to deer include maples, oaks, pines, cedars, and spruces. These trees have thick bark and dense foliage that make them difficult for deer to reach.

Herbs – Herbs can also be used as a deterrent for deer because they don’t like the smell of some herbs like rosemary, thyme, oregano, lavender, sage, mints and marjoram.

Conclusion:
Plants such as perennials (lavender etc. ), shrubs (boxwood etc.

), trees (maples etc.) and herbs (rosemary etc.) will not be eaten by Deer as they have thick bark/dense foliage or an unpleasant smell which deters them from eating them.
