Where Can I Camp at Great Sand Dunes National Park?

Great Sand Dunes National Park is located in south-central Colorado, and it is home to the tallest sand dunes in North America. The park offers a variety of activities for visitors of all ages, including camping, hiking, and sand sledding. It has 73 individual campsites and 4 group sites, as well as restrooms with running water and flush toilets. Pinon Flats also has picnic tables, fire rings with grills, and bear-proof food storage boxes.

Oasis Campground

Backcountry campsites must be at least one mile away from any road or developed area in order to minimize impact on the environment. All visitors must have a valid permit prior to camping in the backcountry and must adhere to all Leave No Trace principles while visiting the park.
