Where Can I Camp in Grand Teton National Park?

Grand Teton National Park is one of America’s most stunning national parks, located in northwestern Wyoming and encompassing the Teton Range and its foothills. Its breathtaking vistas of snow-capped peaks, pristine lakes, and meadows of wildflowers make it a popular destination for all sorts of outdoor activities, including camping.

Grand Teton offers a number of campgrounds to choose from. Colter Bay Village is the largest campground in the park and provides sites with electric hookups as well as non-electric sites. This campground is especially popular with RVers and families due to its amenities such as flush toilets, hot showers, laundry facilities, and a general store. Other campgrounds in the park include Gros Ventre Campground and Headwaters Campground at Flagg Ranch (both of which have electric hookups).

For those who prefer more primitive camping experiences, Grand Teton offers backcountry camping opportunities throughout the park. Permits are required for backcountry camping, which can be obtained at any ranger station or visitor center within the park. With a permit you can camp in designated sites along trails or in certain areas that allow dispersed camping (camping outside of designated sites).

Conclusion: Grand Teton National Park offers a variety of camping opportunities ranging from developed campgrounds with electric hookups to primitive backcountry campsites. Whether you’re looking for an RV site or an adventurous backpacking trip, Grand Teton National Park has something for everyone!
