Where Can You Camp at Biscayne National Park?

Biscayne National Park, located just south of Miami, is a beautiful and diverse park with plenty of camping options. The park contains Biscayne Bay and the northernmost part of the Everglades. It offers an array of activities including fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, wildlife viewing and camping.

The park has five campgrounds that offer tent camping and RV sites with electrical hookups. All campsites provide access to restrooms, showers and drinking water. There is also a marina at the park that offers boat slips for visitors who wish to bring their own boats.

Long Pine Key Campground has 124 campsites in a natural hardwood hammock setting. It is a primitive campground with no hookups and no dump station. However it does offer restrooms and cold showers (no hot water).

It is located in the northern part of the park near Miami.

Convoy Point Campground has 38 RV sites with full hookups for electricity, water and sewer. It also has a dump station for RVs as well as restrooms and hot showers. This campground is located in the southern part of the park near Homestead.

Flamingo Campground can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet in length with full hookups for electricity, water and sewer. There are also restrooms and hot showers available at this campground which is located on the east side of Florida Bay.

Chekika Campground, located on Chekika Island, provides primitive camping with no hookups or amenities other than restrooms (no showers). There are 11 campsites available on this island which is accessible only by boat.

Primitive Beach Camping, which requires a permit from the visitor center, is available at Elliott Key or Boca Chita Key. On Elliott Key there are seven designated campsites that have picnic tables and grills but no facilities other than vault toilets; while on Boca Chita Key there are three designated sites with picnic tables but no facilities other than vault toilets.
