Which Country Is Best for Mountain Biking?

Mountain biking is a thrilling and exciting way to explore the great outdoors, with many countries around the world offering some of the best trails in the world. Depending on what kind of terrain and experience you are looking for, there is something for everyone. From single track to cross country trails, here we look at which countries offer the best mountain biking experiences.

United States

The United States offers an abundance of mountain biking opportunities. With world-class trails all over the country, it’s no wonder why so many riders flock to America to ride. From Moab in Utah to Downieville in California and Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina, there is something for every kind of rider.

New Zealand

New Zealand is a mecca for mountain bikers thanks to its stunning landscapes and well-maintained trails. From Rotorua on the North Island to Queenstown on the South Island, New Zealand has some of the best single track trails in the world. With plenty of challenging terrain, it’s no wonder why so many riders come from all around the world to ride here.


Canada has some fantastic mountain biking destinations from coast to coast. The rugged terrain of British Columbia provides an amazing playground for riders looking for technical trails while Quebec offers a more relaxed riding experience. One of Canada’s most popular destinations is Whistler Bike Park with its huge selection of DH and XC trails.


Australia offers some great riding opportunities with a wide range of terrains available across its vast landscape.

The Blue Mountains in New South Wales have some fantastic single track while Queensland’s Sunshine Coast has a great selection of downhill tracks. Tasmania also has an abundance of trails that are perfect for cross-country riding.
