Who Owns the Land at Park City Mountain Resort?

Park City Mountain Resort is one of the most renowned ski and snowboard resorts in the world, located in Park City, Utah. With over 7,300 acres of terrain and more than 400 trails, the resort offers some of the best skiing and snowboarding opportunities in the country. But who owns the land that makes up Park City Mountain Resort?

The mountain resort is actually owned by two different entities: Vail Resorts, Inc. and Park City Mountain Resort Operating Corporation (PCMROC). Vail Resorts owns a majority stake in PCMROC, with a 65% ownership interest. The remaining 35% stake is held by Talisker Corporation, a private real estate company based in Utah.

Vail Resorts is one of the largest operators of ski resorts in North America and has been running Park City Mountain Resort since 2014 when it acquired PCMROC from Powdr Corporation for $182 million. Vail Resorts is responsible for maintaining all ski lifts, trails, lodges, restaurants, and other amenities at the mountain resort.

Talisker Corporation owns a portion of land near Park City Mountain Resort called Canyons Village which includes several large hotels and condos as well as retail shops and restaurants. They are also involved in operating some of the luxury amenities at the resort such as spa facilities and golf courses. Talisker also owns most of The Colony development — an exclusive residential community located at the base of Park City Mountain Resort that offers stunning views of nearby mountains and valleys.

Together, Vail Resorts and Talisker Corporation own much of the land that makes up Park City Mountain Resort — from ski slopes to luxury homes. These two entities play an important role in keeping Park City’s iconic ski resort running smoothly for locals and visitors alike.

In conclusion, Vail Resorts Inc. owns 65% stake while Talisker Corporation, a private real estate company based in Utah holds 35% stake in Park City Mountain Resort Operating Corporation (PCMROC). Together they own much of the land that makes up this iconic ski resort which offers some of the best skiing experiences in North America.
