Who Won the Women’s Mountain Biking?

The world of women’s mountain biking has grown rapidly over the last few years, with more and more female athletes taking to the trails. The 2019 season was no exception as some of the world’s top female mountain bikers battled it out for glory. The 2019 women’s mountain biking season was packed with exciting events, with four major events taking place in the United States alone.

The USA Pro Challenge took place in Colorado from April 26-May 1 and saw some of the best female riders from around the world take to the trails. The event featured a number of thrilling races and it was eventual winner Katerina Nash who emerged victorious after five days of intense competition. Nash’s victory was her second title at this event, having won it in 2017 as well.

The Sea Otter Classic was held in California from May 9-12 and saw some of the top female riders take to their bikes once again. This time, it was American rider Kate Courtney who emerged victorious after a thrilling competition that included a time trial and an endurance race.

Courtney’s victory marked her first Sea Otter Classic win and she became the first American woman to do so since 1996.

The US Open of Mountain Biking took place in Oregon from June 13-16 and saw some of the best riders from around the world compete for glory. In the end, it was American rider Rebecca Rusch who emerged as champion after a fiercely contested contest that included two days of downhill racing and one day of cross-country racing. Rusch’s victory marked her fourth US Open title, making her one of only two women to have achieved such a feat.

The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup concluded this year’s season with events taking place in Canada and Austria in August and September respectively. It was Canadian rider Emily Batty who took home top honors at both events, becoming just the fourth woman ever to win both races in one season. Batty’s victories cemented her status as one of the world’s top female riders

Katerina Nash, Kate Courtney, Rebecca Rusch and Emily Batty all had outstanding seasons this year and can be proud to be called champions in their respective disciplines.
